In a few days, it will be two months since I graduated college. TWO MONTHS! Time is flying like crazy, and I just want it to slow down as I've started my first "big girl" job and now have to face the real world.
As graduation approached, I found myself looking back on the last four years of my life and being so incredibly thankful for everything - the opportunities I had been given, the teachers I grew to love, and the lifetime friends I had made.
I had a Freshman year of college like no other - while I still did my homework and the grades to keep my scholarship, I can promise that school was the last thing on my mind. "The crew," as we called ourselves, were my very best friends. We did absolutely EVERYTHING together. I did a lot of fishing, dirt road riding, Thursday night partying, and had very little sleep. But I loved each and every one of them like a brother or sister, and I have no regrets. As time has passed, we've grown apart, as expected. But there will never be a day when I don't feel like I can call them just to talk or listen if I need advice.

As the last few years have gone by, not only did a member of "the crew" become my precious boyfriend, but, we just celebrated our second year together. TWO YEARS! It feels like yesterday that his precious little charm was winning me over. There have been many days when Graham and I have talked about the what ifs with us. What if his college from home offered his major? What if he had never came to UWA? What if we had never met on move-in day? What if we hadn't become inseparable friends freshman year? Even with all of the what ifs, I thank God every single day for bringing my soulmate into my life.
As I approached my Junior year of college, I made a huge decision to change my major. Most people would say that I was making a horrible decision, but it was one of the greatest decisions of my life. I became a marketing communications major and began to study journalism and design. I absolutely LOVED it. Not to mention, three of my friends from the time I started college were IMC majors too! And little did I know that those three people would become my heart and soul over the next two years.
Hayley, Dylan, and Caleb became my best friends in the whole world. We did everything together. And as different as we all are, we mesh perfectly. They are my confidants, my rocks, my best friends. We spent many nights cooped up in our MAC lab "working on stuff for school" and singing Frozen songs to the top of our lungs. As a joke, our teachers began to call us the "Dream Team" - and it stuck. It became on ongoing joke with the entire journalism department, and the Dream Team will be one of my greatest memories.
As graduation quickly approached, I became more and more sad to leave these people I had become so close to. We were all going our separate ways with Hayley working with PR at Children's Hospital in Birmingham, Caleb going to grad school at Alabama, and Dylan going to grad school in Australia. Yes you heard right, AUSTRALIA. I got more and more sad as the days approached - but there were no better people that I could have spent the last four years of my life with or walked across that stage with.
I love you guys, and always will! #dreamteamforever

I couldn't be more thankful for what my college experience gave me. If you are just starting school., don't get so wrapped up in everything that you don't enjoy yourself.
Go live it.
Much love,
Shelby
